Camp Mueller is located on Akron-Peninsula Road in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park north of Cuyahoga Falls and was started by the Phillis Wheatley Association in 1939 as an interracial camp for inner-city children.

Units 1-3 girls units 4 & 5 boys. 2 week sessions every summer. The raising the flag every morning and lowering it every evening before supper singing taps. We learned how to fold the flag and so much more. Swimming lessons every day after the 1 hour break after lunchtime and singing the Camp Mueller song every evening after supper. We learned so much without realizing it. Kids today are missing out on so much fun.

I was there in 1994. This was the worst experience of my life. The night hikes and early morning wakes with cold showers in the outhouse was terrible. Don’t send your kid here. I AM STILL IN THERAPY 30 years later. Oh the food was good but the experience was traumatizing. Yall made my life a living hell and now I only do 5 star hotels
