Morris’ Beauty Salon

Ola Morris opened Morris’ Beauty Salon at 46 North Howard Street in Akron in 1939, and it appears to have operated for at least most of the next decade, appearing in both the 1940 Akron Negro Directory and 1947 Green Book. The salon had the tagline, “For Women Who Care.” Little is known about the owner, but Ola Morris’s marriage to a man by the name of Mr. Colwell was announced in the Defiance Daily Crescent News on April 24, 1912.
